Day 8 – Kalispell, MT
Shhh… it’s Lililoo and everyone is still asleep so I’m going to surprise them by posting yesterday’s adventure…
It was a cold and blustery day! The rain was pouring, the wind was blowing and the temperature was at 37 degrees. We were all snuggled in our beds (Mom in her kerchief and Dad in his cap) when we were suddenly shook from our beds at 4:30 in the morning by a huge green monster with giant arms that drove up to the corner of our building (just outside our window) and gobbled up the garbage cans! It was so noisy that I didn’t think Dad was able to hear us howling (trying to protect the family, of course), but he did. Why would he jump all over us telling us to be quite when we were saving his butt which by the way was not covered! Does Mom know he sleeps like that??? GROSS!
Well, the monster finally left and that was the official start of our morning. 4:40 AM! Seriously! Even I need my beauty rest. No one could get back to sleep so Dad had the great idea of taking us for a “hike” (that’s a long, long walk so Mom can go back to sleep). And as soon as the door opened, we 3 Hounds immediately changed our minds (this is the part where you are supposed to refer to the opening lines of today’s blog). Dad got the hint, although I think the fear of an “accident” in the room drove him to drag us kicking and screaming at least a block down the road. Oh it was soooooo cold, and windy…and wet and…AND MISERABLE!
We finally got Dad back in the room but as soon as we did, Eli had a meltdown. Trust me, it doesn’t take much. (This is the part where you are supposed to refer back to the “Profiles" and see “Eli – High Maintenance”). We should have added “neurotic, emotionally unstable when big green monsters approach and an all-around “Big Baby!”). OK…I will back off. But seriously!
Seeing as no one was able to get back to sleep with Eli’s non-stop pacing and heavy panting (I think  it was able to be heard all the way up at the front desk), Dad got up, got dressed (finally) and put us in the Jeep. He drove us around Sandpoint, ID for 45+ minutes. It is amazing what you can see when you aren’t going 65 miles per hour! After going around circles and a stop at Starbucks for coffee and directions on how to get back to our hotel (he must have lost his compass) we returned to wake up Mom, eat our breakfast and pack the car. Newsflash: “THIS IS NOT OUR IDEA OF HAVING FUN!
Before leaving Sandpoint, ID. we made a stop at a really cool house “Talus Rock”. It is where Stephanie (Mom and Dad’s friend) works. We didn’t get to see the inside but the outside was the biggest dog house we have ever seen. I WANT ONE!!!  And there were dogs too but of course, we weren’t allowed to play with them. Mom and Dad said the inside of the house was really cool.  There’s a card in the room that has this on address on it - www.sandpointretreat.com.
Next we made the drive to Kalispell, MT.  Mom stopped someplace high in the mountains and they MADE US get out of the car and WALK IN THE FREEEEEEZING COLD RAIN AND WIND!!!  Didn't I mention that it was 37 degrees out for crying out loud!!!  Seriously, these guys just don’t get it!!! Finally talked them into taking us back – trust me – Dad didn’t have to coax/lift me into the Jeep!  Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
There was this WILD-CRAZY-PYSCHO house that we saw.  I’m telling you it was COOOOOL!!!  Maybe I’d rather live there than in the other house we saw today. It was a dog boarding place (where they teach dogs to snowboard I imagine), a dog grooming place (where they teach dogs like Bella to be all hoity-toity) and a doggy daycare (where I think you get to go when the Jeep is ENOUGH ALREADY!).
We got to the hotel and took our “REST” breaks.  Oh yeah… there were these GIGANTIC dogs back there!  I’m not kidding you – these guys are on some serious steroids or something!  Bella and I tried to warn Dad, barking and howling and doing what we’re suppose to do.  Did Dad listen??? NOOOO!!!  He went up and fed these ugly, oversized, freaks of nature grass.  Dogs don’t eat grass unless they want to get sick so I definitely didn’t want to be around when THAT happened.  We talked Dad into going back to the room by Mom.
Biggest coolest dog house ever!
HUGELY COOL!
37 degrees and rainy all day
Some silly roadside place where we had to walk in the freezing cold
Freaky house

Freaky house x2

Long day comes to an end
